Switch up your usual dinner routine with our Cheeseburger Loaf recipe. It’s a delicious and satisfying dish that’s easy to make, perfect for a busy weekday family dinner. In this post, we’ll walk you through how to make a Cheeseburger Loaf from scratch.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. evaporated milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. cracker crumbs
  • 1 1/2 lb. ground chuck
  • 4 Tbsp. finely chopped onion

  3. Lightly grease a loaf pan.
  4. Put 1/3 of meat mixture in the bottom of pan and spread evenly.

  6. Repeat layers (1/3 meat, 1/2 cup cheese, 1/3 meat).
  7. Bake 1 hour.
  8. Let stand 10 to 15 minutes before removing to a platter to slice.

A Hamburger’s Loaf-ier Twin

Ever had a hankering for a cheeseburger but craved something…I don’t know, just a little more…loafy? Well, boy, have I got a treat for you today. Let’s make a Cheeseburger Loaf. Yes, you heard right, folks. It’s a cheeseburger, it’s a loaf, it’s a…Cheeseburger Loaf! Now, let’s loaf around and get cooking.

The Cast of Characters

Meet the usual suspects: 1/2 c. evaporated milk, 1 egg, 1 c. cracker crumbs, 1 1/2 lb. ground chuck, 4 Tbsp. finely chopped onion, 1 1/2 tsp. salt (or to taste, if your taste buds are feeling adventurous), 1 tsp. dry mustard, 1 Tbsp. ketchup, and 1 c. grated American cheese. A word to the wise: don’t let the cracker crumbs fool you. They’re not just here to make a crunchy mess – they’re the hidden glue that holds our loaf together.

Preheating Anticipation

Now, we all know it’s not a party until someone preheats the oven to 350°. So let’s turn up the heat and get this loaf party started! If you listen closely, you might hear the oven humming in anticipation – or, that could just be your stomach. Either way, we’re on the right track.

Mix, Mix, Baby

Next, we’re going to combine all our ingredients (except cheese, of course) in a bowl and mix thoroughly. Remember, this is not the time to be shy – get your hands in there and really give it a good squelch. Nothing like the squishy sensation of egg and ground chuck between your fingers on a Saturday afternoon, am I right?

The Loaf Pan Tango

Now that our meat mixture is ready, it’s time to lightly grease a loaf pan. If you’ve ever tried to get a loaf out of an ungreased pan, you know this step is crucial unless you fancy your dinner in abstract pieces.

The Building of a Masterpiece

We’re going to put 1/3 of the meat mixture into the bottom of the pan and spread it evenly. Then, we put 1/2 cup of cheese on top. Remember, we’re trying to avoid any cheese-on-pan contact here. The cheese is a bit of a diva – it likes to stick to the pan and burn if it gets too close to the edge. Repeat the layers (1/3 meat, 1/2 cup cheese, 1/3 meat), like a meaty, cheesy lasagna.

The Waiting Game

Pop it in the oven and bake for 1 hour. This is the perfect time to clean up, or if you’re like me, sit on the floor and watch it cook. Yes, I know watching food bake isn’t as exciting as the latest Netflix show, but the anticipation is half the fun!

Eternal Patience (Or, 10-15 Minutes)

Once your masterpiece is baked, let it stand for about 10 to 15 minutes before removing it to a platter. I know, I know – it’s tough to wait when you’re salivating at the mouthwatering aroma, but trust me, it’s worth it.

The Grand Finale

Finally, slice it up and serve! This recipe yields 6 servings, so either invite some friends over or prepare for some epic leftovers. Pair it with a side salad or fries, and you’ve got yourself a cheeseburger experience that’s…well, a bit loafy.

There you have it, folks! A simple yet delicious Cheeseburger Loaf that pairs perfectly with a lazy weekend and a good appetite. Now, who’s up for a milkshake to wash it down?
