Crock Pot Pizza: The Easiest Pizza You’ll Ever Make

AlessaAlessa—March 3, 20250

Who doesn’t love a good pizza? It’s a universal favorite, with a history that dates back to the ancient Egyptians who first baked bread with toppings. It was the Italians, however, who transformed it into the delightful dish we all crave today. But as much as I love pizza, making it from scratch can be quite a task. That’s where my Crock Pot Pizza comes into play. This recipe takes the art of pizza-making to a whole new level of ease and convenience. By using a slow cooker, I’ve managed to eliminate the fuss of kneading dough and worrying about the perfect oven temperature. The result is a scrumptious pizza that is loaded with tasty toppings like hamburger, mushrooms, onions, green peppers, and of course, lots and lots of cheese. One of the things I absolutely love about this recipe is its versatility. You can switch up the toppings as per your preference, making it a hit with both kids and adults. And the best part? You can prepare it in the morning, and by dinner time, your delicious pizza will be ready to serve. It’s perfect for busy weekdays when you’re craving comfort food but don’t have the time or energy for elaborate cooking. So, are you ready to give this a try? I promise, once you’ve made pizza in a crock pot, you’ll never go back to the traditional way!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds hamburger
  • 2 small jars pizza sauce
  • 1 bag pizza cheese
  • 1 can mushrooms
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 chopped green pepper
  • 1 large bag noodles
  • 1 package pepperoni

Cooking Method

  1. Brown meat with onions and peppers and drain.
  2. Add sauce and simmer.
  3. Cook noodles and drain.
  4. Layer meat, noodles, mushrooms, cheese and pepperoni in crock pot.
  5. Cook on low for 90 minutes.

The Chronicles of Crock Pot Pizza

I can’t believe I’m about to tell you this, folks, but I’ve done it again. I’ve taken everyone’s favorite dish, pizza, and made it in a crock pot. Yes, you read that right. Crock Pot Pizza. It sounds like an oxymoron, but trust me, this is one culinary experiment you’re not going to want to miss.

The Gathering of Ingredients

So there I was, standing in the middle of my kitchen, armed with my favorite crock pot and a dream. My mission was simple: to create a pizza in my crock pot using only the ingredients I had on hand. On my countertop, ready for action, were 1 1/2 pounds of hamburger, 2 small jars of pizza sauce, 1 bag of pizza cheese, 1 can of mushrooms, 1 chopped onion, 1 chopped green pepper, 1 large bag of noodles, and 1 package of pepperoni. I eyed them suspiciously, wondering if they too, knew about the gastronomic journey we were about to embark on.

The Great Sauteé

The first step in our journey was to brown the hamburger with onions and peppers. It’s a pretty standard process, but let me tell you, when you’re doing it with the knowledge that you’re about to make a pizza in a crock pot, even the most mundane tasks seem thrilling. The aroma of sizzling hamburger, onion, and green pepper filled the kitchen, and I found myself giggling at the thought of my crock pot’s upcoming identity crisis.

Simmer Down Now

Once I had successfully browned the hamburger and veggies, it was time to add the sauce. Remember, when it comes to pizza sauce, moderation is key. You want enough to make your pizza tasty, but not so much that you’re eating soup. I added the two jars of pizza sauce to my mixture and let it simmer, stirring occasionally and thinking about how this concoction was about to become a pizza. Sort of.

The Noodle Conundrum

While the sauce was simmering, I cooked a large bag of noodles. Now, I know what you’re thinking: noodles on a pizza? But stay with me here. These noodles are going to act as a sort of base for our pizza. I drained the noodles and looked at them, wondering if they had any idea what was about to happen to them. They didn’t. They never do.

The Layering of Flavors

Now came the fun part: layering the ingredients in the crock pot. I started with a layer of the meat mixture, followed by a layer of noodles, then mushrooms, cheese, and finally, pepperoni. I repeated this process until I ran out of ingredients, feeling like a mad scientist concocting a Frankenstein’s monster of pizza.

The Great Wait

With everything layered in the crock pot, all that was left was to set it to low and wait for 90 minutes. The waiting is always the hardest part. It’s like being a kid on Christmas Eve, except instead of presents, you’re waiting for a crock pot pizza.

After what felt like an eternity, the timer dinged, and I cautiously opened the lid of the crock pot. The aroma that wafted out was heavenly, a combination of melted cheese, pepperoni, and…noodles?

The Verdict

And there it was, in all its glory: Crock Pot Pizza. It was a sight to behold, a true testament to the power of culinary creativity (and a bit of insanity). Did it taste like a pizza? In a word, no. But it was delicious, and in the end, isn’t that what really matters?

So there you have it, folks. The story of how I turned a crock pot and some random ingredients into a pseudo-pizza. It was a wild ride, and I can’t wait to see what crazy culinary experiment I’ll come up with next. Until then, happy cooking!
