Hamburger Party Balls – The Perfect Party Appetizer

AlessaAlessa—February 27, 20250

There is something incredibly satisfying about a well-made hamburger. The juicy, flavorful meat, the tangy pickles, and the creamy sauce all combine to create a symphony of flavors that is hard to resist. Now, imagine all that goodness packed into bite-sized party balls! That’s exactly what my Hamburger Party Balls are all about. They’re the perfect appetizer for any gathering, and the best part is, they’re incredibly easy to make. The recipe for these delightful bites has been in my family for years. It was a staple at every party my mom hosted, and it quickly became a favorite among all our friends and family. The tangy dill pickles add a unique twist to the traditional hamburger flavor, and the addition of cream gives the balls a rich, indulgent texture. This recipe is also quite versatile. If you’re not a fan of pickles, you can easily substitute them with other ingredients like jalapenos for a spicy kick, or bell peppers for a sweet, crunchy bite. And if you’re in a hurry, you can even make these ahead of time and freeze them. Just pop them in the oven before your guests arrive, and you’re good to go. I love this recipe because it takes the beloved flavors of a classic hamburger and presents them in a fun, party-friendly way. It’s a testament to the fact that good food doesn’t have to be complicated or time-consuming. With just a few simple ingredients and a little bit of creativity, you can create something truly memorable. So, the next time you’re hosting a gathering, give these Hamburger Party Balls a try. I guarantee they’ll be a hit!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. hamburger
  • 1/2 c. chopped dill pickles
  • 1/4 c. Carnation cream
  • 2 Tbsp. Shake ‘n Bake for chicken
  • 1 onion, chopped (optional)

Baking Instructions

  1. Mix well.
  2. Shape into balls.
  3. Roll in remainder of Shake ‘n Bake and bake in 350° oven for 20 to 30 minutes or until done. Toothpicks can be put in balls when done.

The Hamburger Party Ball Extravaganza

Ah, the humble hamburger. A staple in any meat-lover’s diet. But today, my friends, we’re not just making any old hamburger. Oh no, we’re going gourmet, we’re going spherical. **We’re making Hamburger Party Balls.**

The Gathering of the Ingredients

Before we can embark on this culinary journey, we need some supplies. First up, we need about 1 1/2 lb. of hamburger. Go ahead and splurge on the good stuff. You deserve it and so do your party balls. Next, we need about 1/2 c. of chopped dill pickles. Yes, you read that right, dill pickles! They bring a tangy twist to our traditional hamburger and keep everyone guessing.

For our next trick, we’re adding 1/4 c. of Carnation cream. Yes, Carnation – the stuff you pour into your coffee when there’s no milk. It brings a creaminess that makes these balls rich and juicy. We’ll also need 2 Tbsp. of Shake ‘n Bake for chicken. I know what you’re thinking – “Chicken seasoning? On hamburger?” Trust me, it’s a secret weapon that will make these balls the belle of the ball! And lastly, for those who like a bit of a crunch, you can add 1 chopped onion. It’s optional, but life’s too short to skip the onion.

The Mixing Ritual

Okay, it’s time for the magic to happen. We’ve got our ingredients, now we need to mix them together. Now, I don’t mean a gentle stir – I mean a good, hearty mix. Get your hands in there and squish it all together. This is the time to take out all your pent-up frustrations. Had a tough day at work? Mix it out. Got cut off in traffic? Mix it out. Your favorite TV show got cancelled? Mix it out.

The Art of Ball Formation

Once you’ve mixed to your heart’s content, the next step is to shape this glob into balls. And no, you can’t use a mold or a fancy gadget. This is a hands-on job. Each ball should be a testament to your hard work and dedication. They should be the size of golf balls, or if you’re feeling bold, go for a tennis ball size. Go big or go home, right?

The Bake Off

Now that we have our balls, we need to roll them in the remainder of the Shake ‘n Bake. This is the moment when they go from being just balls of meat to Hamburger Party Balls. Then, it’s time to pop them in a 350° oven for about 20 to 30 minutes.

This is a good time to pour yourself a drink, put your feet up, and bask in the aroma of your soon-to-be masterpiece. Just make sure to set a timer, we don’t want charred party balls, do we?

Once they’re done, you can stick some toothpicks in them. Not only does it make them easier to grab, but it also adds a touch of class. Just don’t forget you put toothpicks in them, we don’t need any surprise dentist visits.

The After Party

And there you have it, folks. Hamburger Party Balls that will make you the talk of the town, or at least the talk of your own kitchen. They’re juicy, they’re tangy, they’re a little bit crunchy, and they’re 100% delicious.

So, whether you’re hosting a party, or just really, really like hamburgers in ball form, these are sure to hit the spot. And remember, there’s no shame in eating the leftovers for breakfast. After all, they’re basically just tiny, round hamburgers, right?

Happy cooking, my friends!
